Object examination and documentation

Detailed examination and documentation form the thorough understandings central to all conservation. This process produces written and photographic material about the the construction and condition of the object that is then shared with the client in a format that is well suited to their needs. This is the first step for all conservation treatments.

Conservation treatment

After establishing and documenting the object(s), Bryn works with you to establish treatment aims and prepare proposals. Treatments can include advanced analysis, cleaning, repair, mounting, and preparation and packing for storage.

Collection-wide Consultations and Examinations

Collection care can be very complex. Depending on your needs, Bryn can work with you to consider your collection and storage conditions. This can take several forms, including conducting surveys which can aid in grant writing and/or recommendations for long term collection management.

Lectures/workshops

Caring for textiles happens everywhere. Having worked in varied settings and institutions, Bryn is very passionate about sharing knowledge and skills to help people care for their textiles.

Large project work

With his diverse experiences, Bryn highly values collaborating with individuals and institutions on expansive projects such as exhibit preparation and installation, large object treatments, and more.
