Meet Bryn Kelley

Bryn is a textile conservator with experience treating textiles from around the world. With a background in chemistry, his research-informed approach results in customized, responsive treatments of textiles of varying ages and materials.

In his off-hours he enthusiastically takes on select outside projects, including condition assessments, object treatments, education & outreach, and collaborative work.

Background

Bryn earned his MPhil with Merit in Textile Conservation at the University of Glasgow, in Scotland. His dissertation focused on impacts of conservation-based solvent exposure on synthetic and semi-synthetic fiber fabrics.

This built on previous experience in textile arts, chemistry, and history. He approaches preservation from an evidence-based and historically grounded framework.
